Weekly Update: October 2-6
Thanks for coming out to the meet the teacher night. I look forward to a challenging and interesting year with this class, and it is nice to know what kind of support I have from our class parents. So far this month we have done a lot of work of various kinds. In writing, we have started a descriptive writing unit, “Writing About a Place”. I am just going through the first three assignments they have completed. Take a look at the link “Descriptive Writing” in the online resources of this page. In math we have completed a small unit on telling time to the minute, and have started a unit on large numbers to 10,000. I have sent home a outline with more details. In science it has not been all about stickbugs(!), but also making scientific drawings and careful observations of animal habitats. Please take a look at the photos, with more coming on Monday.
We are about to embark on a virtual tour of First Nation territories in Canada, with students using map skills to understand how first nations adapted to life in different parts of Canada.
Friday there will be a Mass sponsored by the Grade 4 class. It would be great to see parents out to participate and see the work of Grade 4 students.
