READ-A-THON

Reminder, ALL reading records need to be returned to teachers by 3:00pm on October 31st in-order to be eligible for prizes. Please note date change of Read-a-thon Assembly from November 16 to November 24.

UNIFORMS

Please note October 2nd was the start for students to wear regular school uniform.  Summer uniforms are no longer accepted.  Also, please ensure students have all items in good order and that all items of their uniform including proper shoes and sweaters are brought daily.  Gym strip should also be at school during PE Days. Girls should only wear white, navy blue or black hair pieces (i.e. no cat ears, no sparkly pieces or big bright flowers). All clothing must be clearly labelled.

LOST AND FOUND UPDATE

Located on the weekly e-letter is a link to the lost and found.  Please make sure you check this on a regular basis if your child is missing any items.

EARLY MORNING PEER TUTORING

Reminder that early morning peer tutoring began on Thursday, October 12.  Please ensure students and tutors are at school between 8:00 a.m. – 8:10 a.m.  Sessions will be held every Tuesday and Thursday morning.

AGAPE STREET MINISTRY DONATIONS

Once again, we reach out to OLS families for their donations of extra Halloween candy.  We will be accepting candy until November 3.  All candy donated will go to AGAPE Street Ministry.

OCTOBER 27, 2017 – HALLOWEEN BASH

The Halloween Bash is SOLD OUT! It will be this Friday, October 27th at 6pm! Tickets will be sent home on Thursday with your child. Costumes are recommended, but please remember no masks or weapons.

OLS HALLOWEEN RAFFLE DRAW

The OLS Halloween Raffle Booklets are now overdue. ALL raffle money and tickets (sold or unsold) must be returned to Office.

OCTOBER 29, 2017 – FAMILY MASS at 11:30 A.M.

The Family Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 29.  We invite all families from OLS to celebrate the Family Mass with our School Choir.  The OLS Family Mass is a great way for our families to attend and participate in the Sunday liturgy.

OCTOBER 31, 2017 – COLOUR DAY

Students may come to school dressed in Halloween colours (eg. orange and black) on this day.  $2 will be collected for the Holy Childhood Association.

NOVEMBER 1, 2017 – ALL SAINTS DAY MASS

Parents/Grandparents are welcome to join OLS School on Wednesday, November 1st, for the All Saints Day Mass at 9:00 a.m.

AFTERSCHOOL CARE

Reminder: Afterschool Care is provided for families that need this essential service due to work, or other commitments in which children cannot be picked up until a later time.
