JUNE 11, 2025 – GRADE 1 MASS
Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 11th at 9:00 a.m. Parents and grandparents are welcome to join us. Students must be in full uniform (black shoes and sweaters).
JUNE 13, 2025 – SPORTS DAY – 12:00 P.M. DISMISSAL – NO AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
On Friday, June 13th, the annual OLS Sports Day will take place rain or shine. This will be held at OLS. Dismissal will be at 12:00 p.m. and there is NO AFTER SCHOOL CLUB on this day.

The Grade 7 Farewell Ceremonies will be held on Friday, June 20th in the Church at 10:30 a.m.
JUNE 22,2025 – FAMILY THANKSGIVING MASS
Our final School Family Mass for the year is at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 22nd. Our school choir will also be singing this day. We will be hosting a Family BBQ and “Dia Alegre” Festivities after the 11:30 a.m. Family Mass and the 1:00 p.m. Spanish Mass. Our parents will host the BBQ and there will be games for the kids in the hall. All Choir, Altar Servers, and Readers will receive a free sausage and bun, chips, and a drink as a thank you for all their service for the year. Any parents who still need their participation hours for the year, please contact our office or our PEC participation coordinator. More info to follow!
JUNE 23, 2025 – CLEANING OUT OF DESKS
We ask that all students Grades 1-7, please bring TWO LARGE GARBAGE BAGS to school by Monday, June 23rd to empty the contents of their desks for the summer.
JUNE 24, 2025 – WALK-A-THON & TRACK AWARDS ASSEMBLY
The Awards Assembly will be held on Tuesday, June 24th at 1:00 p.m. We invite all parents to attend.
JUNE 25, 2025 – GRADE 7 CLOSING MASS – SUMMER UNIFORM
Parents and grandparents are welcome to join us on Wednesday, June 25th for Mass at 9:00 a.m. The Grade 7 class will be preparing this Mass. Summer uniform, and Black shoes are acceptable.
JUNE 25, 2025 – LAST DAY OF SCHOOL BEFORE SUMMER VACATION – 12:00 P.M. DISMISSAL – NO AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
The last day of school will be Wednesday, June 25th. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. NO AFTER-SCHOOL CLUB on this day.

OUR LADY OF SORROWS PARISH RAFFLE – DRAW DATE SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH
Raffle booklets are now for sale. If you would like to purchase a raffle booklet, please contact the school office at office@myolosschool.com, your classroom teacher or visit the Parish office. Each booklet costs $20 and consists of 10 tickets. We are asking each family to sell at least one booklet.
Grand prize: $5,000; 2nd prize: $3,000; 3rd prize: $1,000; 4th prize: Dinner for two at The Parlour, one night-stay at The Rosedale Hotel, two Canucks tickets ($1,000 value); 5th prize: two night-stay at Whistler.

MORNING CARE and AFTER SCHOOL CLUB – SEPTEMBER 2025
As we are preparing staffing levels for next year, we are asking parents to complete a needs assessment for both Morning Care from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and After School Care from 2:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m. (pick up by 5:00 p.m.). As we only have 40 spots per day, 20 for primary (K-2) and 20 for intermediate (3-7), we require you to preregister for your essential weekly days to ensure we have enough spots available daily. The minimum to register is 1 day per week. The rate will be $10 per hour, and these days will be billed hourly and not by the half-hour. Late pick up, starting at 5 p.m., will be charged $10 for every 15 minutes late. We hope to continue to help our working parents with before and after school care, however, we do also need to balance our staffing needs to continue to provide this service. SEPTEMBER 5, 2025 – OLS GOLF TOURNAMENT IS BACK!!
We are excited to be hosting our Second Annual OLS Golf Tournament on Friday, September 5th, at Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club, in Pitt Meadows. This is an important fundraiser for our process of building a new school! We are hoping that families who golf, or families with businesses will join us for a fun day of community and support for our new school fund. Even if you are not a golfer, we are offering hole sponsorships and signs for only $500 per hole (tax receipts will be available). This is a great way to introduce your business to the greater OLS business community! If your business is interested in being a larger corporate sponsor, we can also accommodate your business needs. IMPORTANT UNIFORM UPDATE!!
We have been informed by Neat’s/McCarthy Uniform that our navy school sweaters and cardigans will no longer have the double white arm bands. There will be a new sweater available for the 2026-2027 Centennial school year. Therefore, Neat’s have agreed to discount the present sweater and cardigans up to 50% until the present stock runs out! So, any purchases for new sweaters for the 2025-2026 year will have to be replaced with the new sweater stock by September 2027. Only the new sweater will be available in 2026-2027. That gives parents 2 years before replacement of the present sweaters. We will also be designing a new 100-year OLS logo for our next Century for the new sweaters as well. SCHOOL SUPPLIES (GR. 3 – 7) – SCHOOL START
All children in Gr. 3 – 7 will be bringing home a list of supplies this week that will be required on the first day of school in September. Please follow the notice instructions for ordering. All orders must now be placed online or by telephone by Tuesday, July 15th to receive your supplies at OLS for the start of school in September.
