December 8, 2020 Newsletter
2 and….
Dear Parents,
We have roughly 2 weeks left before our Christmas break. As per Dr. Bonnie Henry’s announcement yesterday, they are extending the all non-essential travel and gatherings bans (except for those who already are in your home bubbles) until January 8th. There has been no announcement for extending the school break at this time. We will inform you as soon as we hear any news. Again, we are extremely grateful to all our families for following ALL our safety protocols! Let us pray we can all continue to keep each other safe as we go into this Advent season. Christmas 2020 will be like no other most of us (except for maybe some of our seniors) have lived through yet. Let us continue to have Hope, even in these isolated times, Love for God and each other, and the Peace of Jesus Christ. Please continue to visit www.olos.ca for all masses and Christmas Services updates!
ADVENT PARALITURGIES
So far we have had 4 classes participate in either our weekly Paraliturgy or their own class ones. All weekly ones can be found on our OLS Videos page. Teachers will post their class Paraliturgies on Seesaw once they are recorded. Thank you to all our students who have been well prepared and have participated with such reverence and joy. Thank you to Father Richard and our staff who have organized these Special Advent celebrations.

We are moving our Colour day to Thursday to make this all easier for parents. All Toonie Donations will go to Holy Childhood Association!
PARISH GIVING TREE
As students and parents are always so generous with those who are less fortunate than us, especially at Christmas time, our Parish Giving tree is also another way to help the less fortunate kids in our areas. We cannot accept toys or clothes due to the COVID issues, however if you wish to drop off any gift cards ($20), to Safeway, Walmart or Superstore, in an envelope marked GIVING TREE (and amount on card) to our School Office by Monday, December 14th, our “Parish Elves” would be grateful to distribute these gift card donations to the less fortunate families and children on your behalf. Thank you for all your amazing donations!
DECEMBER 18, 2020 – CHRISTMAS MOVIE DAY! 12:00 P.M. DISMISSAL
Friday, December 18th is the last day of school before Christmas vacation. Dismissal is at
12:00 p.m. – There will be NO AFTER SCHOOL CLUB on this day. More details to follow!
OUR LADY of SORROWS PARISH – PAD Agreement
Last week Father Richard sent home, attached to your Parish Envelopes, a letter explaining how you can still support the parish during these difficult COVID times. There are now added ways to do that. Many are already using these virtual services. The parish is allowing automatic debit at the request of our parents (PAD Agreement) as well. If you wish to add the PAD method, please return the form to the school or parish office by Friday, December 11th, or directly to the Parish office PRIOR to Friday, January 1st . Thank you for your continued support of our Parish!
