HALLOWEEN BASH – THIS FRIDAY
The Halloween Bash is SOLD OUT! This is going to be the biggest party ever! It will be this Friday, October 28th starting at 6:00 p.m.! Thank you to everyone who is coming out to support this family event and for all the OLS families who donated a prize, are baking a cake or are volunteering their time to help support this event. Some of the exciting activities happening are:
Kids Carnival Games in the Lower Hall with FREE carnival prizes
Selfie Station, Crafts & Tattoo Parlour in the Gym
DJ & Dancing all evening
Ragazzi Pizza, Sushi & Concession
Lollipop Pull, Cake Wars/Walk & Balloon Pop Wall
Cash Bar
Wristbands and food tickets will be sent home by Thursday with your oldest child. You MUST wear your wristband to enter! No Tickets will be sold at the door. Costumes are strongly recommended, but please remember no masks or weapons. Just a reminder that this is a CASH OR CHEQUE only event. All proceeds will go back to our school and will benefit our children. Thank you for all your support and generosity in making this school event a success!

NOVEMBER 4, 2022 – AGAPE STREET MINISTRY DONATIONS
Once again, we reach out to OLS families for their donations of extra Halloween candy. We will be accepting candy until Friday, November 4th. All candy donated will go to AGAPE Street Ministry.
NOVEMBER 4-9, 2022 – REMEMBRANCE DAY POPPY DONATIONS
Students from Grade 6 will be going to classrooms to collect a $1 minimum donation for poppies from November 4th to 9th.
NOVEMBER 6, 2022 – OLS PARISH CRAFT FAIR
There will be food, games, crafts, jewellery, baking, clothing, and raffle prizes. There will be something for the whole family! Make sure to come by after Mass on Sunday, November 6th between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
NOVEMBER 7, 2022 – CONFIRMATION PARENT MEETING AT 7:00 P.M.
A notice will be sent home with students with further details.
NOVEMBER 9, 2022 – REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE
All parents/grandparents are welcome to join the OLS staff and students at a Remembrance Day Service to be held on Wednesday, November 9th at 9:30 a.m. in the school gym. Students must bring their gym strip and runners to school on this day if they have gym class.
NOVEMBER 11, 2022 – REMEMBRANCE DAY STAT HOLIDAY – NO SCHOOL
There will be no school on Friday, November 11th, as it is the Remembrance Day Stat Holiday.
NOVEMBER 14, 2022 – PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY – NO SCHOOL
There will be a Professional Development Day for OLS teachers on Monday, November 14th; therefore, there will be no school for students on this day.
NOVEMBER 16, 2022 – READ-A-THON PLEDGES DUE
Read-a-thon reading records were due by 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1st. All Read-a-thon pledges are due on Wednesday, November 16th. There will be a Read-a-thon assembly on Thursday, November 24th.
NOVEMBER 21, 2022 – GREEN THUMB THEATRE
Green Thumb Theatre’s production of “Derwent is Different” will take place at 1:00 p.m. in our gym. Students from Kindergarten to Gr. 7 will be attending.
NOVEMBER 24, 2022 – GRADE 6 ANNUAL BAKE SALE
The Annual Grade 6 Bake Sale will take place on Thursday, November 24th. This year each bag will be $2.00.
NOVEMBER 25, 2022 – CISVA NETWORKING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY – NO SCHOOL
There will be a Professional Development Day for CISVA teachers on Friday, November 25th; therefore, there will be no school for students on this day.
NOVEMBER 27, 2022 – CONFIRMATION ENROLMENT MASS
All students in Grade 7 who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation will be required to attend this Mass on Sunday, November 27th at 11:30 a.m.
NOVEMBER 27, 2022 – FAMILY MASS
The Family Mass will be on Sunday, November 27th at 11:30 a.m. We invite all families from OLS to celebrate the Family Mass with our OLS School Choir. The OLS Family Mass is a great way for our families to attend and participate in the required Sunday liturgy.

NOVEMBER 28, 2022 – ADVENT PARALITURGY
Our first Advent Paraliturgy will take place on Monday, November 28th at 9:00 a.m. in the church led by the Gr. 5 & 6 classes. The Gr. 5 & 6 classes will be receiving confession on this day.
NOVEMBER 29, 2022 – REPORT CARDS TO BE SENT HOME
Report Cards will be sent home on Tuesday, November 29th.
NOVEMBER 30, 2022 – PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES – NO SCHOOL
Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, November 30th. More information will be sent home soon. Please remember there will be no school on this day for students.
KINDERGARTEN 2023 SIBLING REGISTRATION FORM
A Kindergarten sibling registration form will be sent home with students next week. If you have a child born in 2018 (sibling only), please complete the form and return to the school office by Wednesday, November 9th. In order to secure your child a spot, this form must be returned by the due date. If we do not receive this form, and we have completed the registration process, your child will not have a spot for the September 2023 Kindergarten class. Please contact the school office if you did not receive one.
