Dear Parents,
We wish to thank all our parents for your ongoing support of our school activities and fundraisers
throughout this school year! You are all truly amazing! Thank you also for continuing to keep our children safe by keeping sick children at home and by showing your commitment in keeping all communicable diseases at low risk. As you hear reports of COVID variants spreading, remember free COVID tests are available at local pharmacies. We encourage parents to keep children at home until they are symptom free and able to participate fully in all school activities.
FRIENDSHIP MONTH/ ANTI-BULLYING DAY
This year’s “Media Pink Day” is on February 22nd. As this is also Ash Wednesday, we will not be having a dress down day due to the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Teachers have already started their preparations in class for these themes. Students will have various “dress down” and friendship building opportunities during our upcoming Catholic Schools Week (February 13-15th). These activities are meant to be fun and inclusive and a reminder that we are a Catholic School.
As a Catholic School, our model for friendship and anti-bullying is Jesus Christ. Jesus teaches us to love God, and love others (treat others as you would treat yourself). Sometimes, there will be issues with students and their interactions with others. As they are all still children and still learning how deal with different personalities, we ask that if you have any concerns, please remember to always check-in with your child(ren’s) teacher first. Please do not try to resolve these school issues directly with the other parents as this can make the situation more personal and harder to resolve. If you have any concerns at any time on how these situations are being dealt with, please contact the principal.
REMINDERS
LENT BOXES
Lent boxes will be sent home on February 22nd (Ash Wednesday) (Grades 1-7). All boxes will be collected after Easter Monday, Tuesday, April 11th. We ask that ALL students label their box with their name and house colour. We also ask that you print the amount collected on the box. Please use this opportunity to encourage your child to give alms (to do charitable work).
