EXTREME WEATHER AND SNOW WEATHER PROCEDURES
If you are unsure of what to do on a snow day, please review our Extreme Weather and Snow Weather Procedures. This document is located on the school website (www.ourladyofsorrows.ca). Please do not call the school as the phones will be busy. Our website will be updated by 7:15 a.m. as it is difficult to predict the exact times when snow may fall. Thank you for your diligence.
PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS – IN THE EVENT OF SCHOOL CLOSURE DUE TO SNOW
In the event the school is closed tomorrow due to snow, parent teacher interviews will be held via zoom at your originally scheduled time. Your child’s teacher will send you a zoom link tomorrow morning.
Gr. 7 FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE UPDATE
December 8th Cookie Dough and Cheesecake Pick Up
Christmas gourmet cookie dough and cheesecake pick up will be on Thursday, December 8th from 2:30-3:30 p.m. outside the gym. We will not be able to hold any orders that aren’t picked up so please be sure to arrange pick up on that day.
Wine Raffle
Get ready to fill your wine racks and bar just in time for Christmas! The Grade 7 Fundraising Committee is raffling off some amazing wine and spirit prizes. Raffle tickets will be sent home this week. Each family will receive two sheets of tickets. If you require more tickets, please email Katarina at tecajhrvj@hotmail.com. This year we have 12 prizes. Raffle tickets are due back on Monday, December 12th and winners will be announced on Wednesday, December 14th. Click here to see the prizes.
Bottle Drive
The Grade 7 Fundraising Committee is collecting bottles again this year. It’s easy! Simply place your empties in clear bags and drop them off at any “Return-It Express” depot (link to locations here). The school’s account is under our main phone number – 604-253-2434.

DECEMBER 5, 2022 – ADVENT PARALITURGY (PEACE)
Our second Advent Paraliturgy will take place on Monday, December 5th at 9:00 a.m. in the church led by the Gr. 3 and 4 classes. The Gr. 3 and 4 classes will be receiving confession on this day.
DECEMBER 12, 2022 – ADVENT PARALITURGY (LOVE)
Our third Advent Paraliturgy will take place on Monday, December 12th at 9:00 a.m. in the church led by the Gr. 7 class. The Gr. 7 class will also be receiving confession on this day.
DECEMBER 14, 2022 – CHRISTMAS CONCERT
This year’s Christmas Concert will be held in the Church. The Matinee is at 1:00 p.m. (doors open at 12:30 p.m.) and the Evening show is at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) Entrance to the concert will be by donation.
DECEMBER 15, 2022 – FALL SPORTS ASSEMBLY – PARENTS WELCOME
The Fall Sports Assembly will be held on Thursday, December 15th at 11:45 a.m. Parents are welcome to attend.
DECEMBER 15, 2022 – CHRISTMAS DESK CLEAN UP!
Clean-up for Christmas break will take place on Thursday, December 15th. Please have your child bring a large garbage bag to school to clean out their desks.
DECEMBER 16, 2022 – PANCAKE BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
An order form for the “Breakfast with Santa” will be sent home with students this week. All order forms must be returned by Friday, December 9th.
DECEMBER 16, 2022 – GREEN/RED COLOUR DAY $2
Students donating $2 on this day towards Holy Childhood Association, may dress in green, red, or other Christmas colours.
December 16, 2022 – 12:00 P.M. DISMISSAL
Friday, December 16th is the last day of school before Christmas vacation. Dismissal is at 12:00 p.m. There will be NO AFTER SCHOOL CLUB on this day.

KINDERGARTEN 2023-2024 REGISTRATION
If you know of any families with children born in the year 2018 that would like to register for our Kindergarten class, please forward them the attached New Student Pre-Registration Request Form.
PRESCHOOL 2023-2024 REGISTRATION
We are also accepting applications for 3 and 4 year old preschool. If you have a child born in the year 2019 or 2020, please complete and return the attached Preschool Pre-Registration Request Form.
