UBC RESEARCH PROJECT FOR PRIMARY GRADES (K-3) – ALL FORMS ARE NOW DUE BACK
Last week your child received a Consent Form to participate in a UBC Research Project. THESE CONSENT FORMS ARE NOW DUE BACK even if your child is not participating.
MARCH 4, 2025 – SKATING GRADE 3 AND 4 STUDENTS
Grade 3 and 4 students will be going skating on Tuesday, March 4th. Further details to follow.
MARCH 5, 2025 – ASH WEDNESDAY GRADE 3 MASS
Ash Wednesday Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 5th at 9:00 a.m. Parents and grandparents are welcome to join us. Students must be in full uniform.
MARCH 5, 2025 – LENT BOXES
Lent boxes will be sent home with students from Grades 1-7 on Wednesday, March 5th (Ash Wednesday). All boxes will be collected on Tuesday, April 22nd. We ask that ALL students label their box with their name, house colour and amount collected. Please use this opportunity to encourage your child to give alms (to do charitable work).
MARCH 5, 2025 – STUDENT-LED CONFERENCE FORMS DUE AND INFORMATION
Student-Led Conference forms will be going home with students this week. Forms are due back by Wednesday, March 5th.
MARCH 7, 2025 – CURLING GRADE 5 STUDENTS
Grade 5 students will be participating in a second curling lesson on Friday, March 7th. Further details to follow.
MARCH 12, 2025 – GRADE 2 – FIRST CONFESSIONS
Grade 2 First Confessions will be held Wednesday, March 12th at 9:00 a.m. in the church. Parents are expected to attend this beautiful sacrament with their child. Please refer to the information provided by Mrs. De Amaral.
MARCH 12, 2025 – IMPORTANT DATE! MANDATORY ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The mandatory Annual General Parent Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 12th at 6:45 p.m. in the school gym. A member from each family must attend this mandatory meeting or a fine will be charged as per the Policy Handbook on Page 12 of your child’s Agenda. If you are unable to attend due to illness, vacation, etc., a letter must be sent addressed to the Parish Education Committee explaining why you will be absent from the meeting. This meeting is only for parents. No students, please!
MARCH 12, 2025 – DISTRIBUTION OF 2025-2026 SCHOOL REGISTRATION PACKAGES
Registration packages will be distributed at the mandatory Annual General Meeting being held on Wednesday, March 12th. Please note that packages will not be given out prior to this.
MARCH 12, 2025 – USED UNIFORM SALE
We will be hosting a used uniform sale on Wednesday, March 12th at the AGM. Please see the attached flyer for further details and instructions.
MARCH 12, 2025 – KRISPY KREME DONUT PICK UP
For those families that ordered, donut pick up will be after school on Wednesday, March 12th in the school parking lot.
MARCH 13, 2025 – DESK CLEAR OUT
Please send a large black garbage bag to school with your child on Thursday, March 13th. The students will need the bag in order to clear out their entire desk for Spring Break cleaning. This does not pertain to Kindergarten students.
MARCH 14, 2025 – GREEN COLOUR DAY & 12:00 P.M. DISMISSAL
On Friday, March 14th students may dress in green coloured clothing. There is no cost for this dress down event. This is the last day of school before Spring Break. Dismissal is at 12:00 p.m. and there is NO After School Club on this day.
MARCH 14, 2025 – REPORT CARDS
Report cards will go home on Friday, March 14th. Please ensure you check your child’s bag and Communication Folders.
MARCH 9, 2025 – DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
Don’t forget that on Sunday, March 9th Daylight Savings Time begins and clocks “spring forward” one hour. The time should be changed one hour ahead before going to bed on Saturday evening.
MARCH 17 – 28, 2025 – SPRING BREAK
The school will be closed for Spring Break the weeks of March 17th to March 28th . School will reopen on Monday, March 31st. We would like to wish all families a safe and healthy Spring Break.

REMINDERS
IMPORTANT UNIFORM UPDATE!!
We have been informed by Neat’s/McCarthy Uniform that our navy school sweaters and cardigans will no longer have the double white arm bands. There will be a new sweater available for the 2026-2027 Centennial school year. Therefore, Neat’s have agreed to discount the present sweater and cardigans up to 50% until the present stock runs out! So, any purchases for new sweaters for the 2025-2026 year will have to be replaced with the new sweater stock by September 2027. Only the new sweater will be available in 2026-2027. That gives parents 2 years before replacement of the present sweaters. We will also be designing a new 100-year OLS logo for our next Century for the new sweaters as well. The vests and other uniform items will not be affected.
ONGOING BOTTLE DRIVE – RETURN-IT EXPRESS
The Grade 7 Fundraising Committee is continuously collecting bottles. It’s easy! Simply place your empties in clear bags and drop them off at any “Return-It Express” depot (link to locations here). The school’s account is under our main phone number 604-253-2434.
