APRIL 29, 2023 – FIRST COMMUNION RETREAT
The Grade Two First Communion Retreat will be held on Saturday, April 29th at 2:00 pm. Please refer to the information sent home by the Grade Two teacher.
APRIL 30, 2023 – FAMILY MASS
The Family Mass will held be on Sunday, April 30th at 11:30 a.m. We invite all families from OLS to celebrate the Family Mass. This is a great way for our families to attend and participate in the required Sunday liturgy. There will also be Krispy Kreme donuts sale after the Mass!

Our 3rd annual Virtual Silent Auction will begin this Monday, May 1st! This event is here for 1 week only and will close on Monday, May 8th at 8:30 p.m. Bids can be placed anytime during this week, and you will be notified if you are outbid. BID, PLAY AND HAVE FUN! Thank you to our students and families who raised over $1000 for the Holy Childhood Association. The cheque will be presented at the Mass by our OLS Grade 7 Leadership Council on Wednesday, May 5th at 10:00 a.m.

MAY 6, 2023 – FIRST COMMUNION NEWS
First Communion will be held on Saturday, May 6th at 11:00 a.m. We ask that all families arrive early on this day. Communion Rehearsal will be on Tuesday, May 2nd .
MAY 8, 2023 – MOTHER’S DAY MASS
The Kindergarten class is leading this special Mass on Monday, May 8th at 9:00 a.m. All parents are welcome to attend, especially Mothers and Grandmothers.
MAY 10, 2023 – HOLY CROSS TRACK MEET
Please refer to Track and Field notice for details. Track meets are always rain or shine, so please make sure students are prepared for all weather.
MAY 19, 2023 – OLS WALK-A-THON
Friday, May 19th, will be the annual OLS Walk-a-thon. Please refer to the notice that went home on April 26th. Please note this day will be a full day of school.
MAY 22, 2023 – VICTORIA DAY – NO SCHOOL
There will be no school on Monday, May 22nd.
MAY 23, 2023 – SPRING UNIFORM NEWS
Students may wear their spring uniform to school starting on Tuesday, May 23rd . However, please note that students must be in FULL UNIFORM (Sweaters, vests or cardigans and black shoes) on Mass or special days.

MAY 26 AND 29, 2023 – CONFIRMATION NEWS
On Thursday, May 25th there will be a mandatory Confirmation rehearsal for all Grade 7 students and their sponsors. Start time will be announced closer to the date.
Confirmation will be held on Monday, May 29th at 6:00 p.m.
MAY 28, 2023 – FAMILY MASS
The Family Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 28th. We invite all families from OLS to celebrate the Family Mass. The OLS Family Mass is a great way for our families to attend and participate in the Sunday liturgy.
MAY 31, 2022 – CROWNING OF MARY
The Crowning of Mary Mass will be on Wednesday, May 31st at OLS Church at 7:00 p.m. Procession will follow (weather permitting). Please bring FLOWERS for Mary! All students are invited to attend. More information will follow.
MCCARTHY (FORMERLY NEAT) UNIFORMS
Neat uniforms has now changed to McCarthy Uniforms. Please view the attached flyer for promotional deals. Uniforms should be examined and replaced as needed due to children outgrowing them or wear and tear.
REMINDERS
AFTERSCHOOL PICK-UP
Due to the warmer weather, the children will now be spending more time outside. Therefore, the gate to the school parking lot will not be opened until 2:30 p.m. Please do not arrive earlier than 2:30 p.m. to pick-up your child(ren) and wait at the gate as this creates a backlog of traffic and a nuisance for the neighbourhood.

If you have not been contacted by the PEC, your volunteer position will stay the same for the upcoming school year. Thank you for your continued support.
GR. 7 FUNDRAISING – ONGOING BOTTLE DRIVE – RETURN-IT EXPRESS
The Grade 7 Fundraising Committee is collecting bottles again this year. It’s easy! Simply place your empties in clear bags and drop them off at any “Return-It Express” depot (link to locations here). The school’s account is under our main phone number (604-253-2434).
