COSTUME BASH WHAT A PARTY!
A huge thank you Sarah Morreau, Mirella Gargiulo and our amazing Halloween Bash parent volunteers that made this night possible; supervising games, running the fundraising booths, and ensuring it was a truly epic event with fun, safe, and creative costumes! In addition, thank you to the Fundraising Committee and everyone who helped plan, set up, donated a prize or food item, worked the event and cleaned up. We cannot host these community events without the support of all our parents!

OCTOBER 30, 2025 – INDIVIDUAL PHOTO RETAKE DAY
Retakes will be on Thursday, October 30th. Please notify your child’s teacher and have them dressed in full uniform on this day if they wish to have their individual photo retaken. Also, your child must bring their proof sheet from their original photo. There is a QR code on the proof sheet that is required by Artona.

OCTOBER 31, 2025 – COLOUR / COSTUME DAY
Students may dress down (e.g., orange, and black) or come in appropriate dress up and non-scary costumes on Friday, October 31st. As this is a fun dress up day, we are asking that costumes do not have weapons, blood, or inappropriate scary accessories or masks. More information will be provided by their Classroom teachers. Students will be learning the connection and history of the Tridium of All Hallows Eve (Oct 31st), All Saints Day (Nov 1st), and All Souls Day (Nov 2nd) and how to better understand the importance of these 3 days in our Catholic – Christian Faith.

NOVEMBER 2, 2025 – DAYLIGHT SAVINGS ENDS
Remember to turn your clocks back one hour before going to bed on Saturday, November 1st .

NOVEMBER 3, 2025 – READ-A-THON RECORDS DUE
The Read-a-Thon officially ends on October 31st. Please continue to encourage reading at home. Reminder, ALL reading records need to be handed in by November 3rd at 3:00 p.m. to be eligible for prizes.

NOVEMBER 4, 2025 – ALL SAINTS DAY SCHOOL MASS
Our Grade 7s will be leading and Celebrating the Communion of Saints by dressing up and presenting a variety of popular Saint’s lives at our School Mass on Tuesday, November 4th at 9 a.m. All other students must be in full uniform (school sweaters and black shoes). Parents and grandparents are welcome to join us.

NOVEMBER 4, 2025 – CONFIRMATION PARENT MEETING AT 7:00 P.M.
A notice will be sent home with students with further details.

NOVEMBER 3 – 7, 2025 – AGAPE STREET MINISTRY DONATIONS
Once again, we reach out to OLS families for their donations of extra Halloween candy. We will be accepting candy until Friday, November 7th. All candy donated will go to AGAPE Street Ministry.

NOVEMBER 6 – 7, 2025 – REMEMBRANCE DAY POPPY DONATION
Students from Grade 6 will be visiting classrooms to collect a $1 minimum donation for poppies from November 6th to 7th.

NOVEMBER 7, 2025 – REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE
All parents/grandparents are welcome to join the OLS staff and students at a Remembrance Day Service to be held on Friday, November 7th at 10:45 a.m. in the school gym. Students must be in full uniform( Sweaters and Black Shoes).

NOVEMBER 10, 2025 – PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY – NO SCHOOL
There will be a Professional Development Day for OLS teachers on Monday, November 10th; therefore, there will be no school for students on this day.

NOVEMBER 11, 2025 – REMEMBRANCE DAY STAT HOLIDAY – NO SCHOOL
There will be no school on Tuesday, November 11th, as it is the Remembrance Day Stat Holiday.

NOVEMBER 14, 2025 – READ-A-THON PLEDGES DUE
All Pledge Money is due on Friday, November 14th. Each family is required to contribute a minimum of $40 as part of the mandatory fundraiser.

NOVEMBER 20, 2025 – GRADE 6 ANNUAL BAKE SALE
The Annual Grade 6 Bake Sale will take place on Thursday, November 20th.  This year each bag will be $2.00.

NOVEMBER 21, 2025 – CISVA NETWORKING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY – NO SCHOOL
There will be a Professional Development Day for CISVA teachers on Friday, November 21st.; therefore, there will be no school for students on this day.

NOVEMBER 23, 2025 – FAMILY & GR. 7 CONFIRMATION ENROLMENT MASS
All students in Grade 7 who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation will be required to attend this Mass on Sunday, November 23rd at 11:30 a.m. This Mass will be led by our Grade 7 students! We invite all families from OLS to celebrate the Family Mass. This is a great way for our families to attend and participate in the required Sunday liturgy.

NOVEMBER 28, 2025 – REPORT CARDS TO BE SENT HOME
Report Cards will be sent home on Friday, November 28th.

DECEMBER 3, 2025 – PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES – NO SCHOOL
Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, December 3rd . More information will be sent home soon. Please remember there will be no school on this day for students.

KINDERGARTEN 2026 SIBLING REGISTRATION FORM
A Kindergarten sibling registration form will be sent home with students this week. If you have a child born in 2021 (sibling only), please complete the form and return to the school office by Wednesday, November 12th. In order to secure your child a spot, this form must be returned by the due date. If we do not receive this form, and we have completed the registration process, your child will not have a spot for the September 2026 Kindergarten class. Please contact the school office if you did not receive one.

REMINDERS

ALTAR SERVING PROGRAM
The altar serving program will be starting up in November. This is a great opportunity for students to join and be trained for altar serving to serve at school and weekend Masses. Altar serving is an excellent opportunity for students to serve their parish as well as to take on a leadership role. Students can choose the Mass or Masses that work with your family’s schedule. Training will take place at lunch. Ms. Guzzo has visited classes and distributed notices. Altar serving is open to boys and girls in grades 3-7. Thank you for your support!

SAFETY REMINDERS!!
As the weather gets darker and wetter, please remember to slow down and not stop to socialize in the drop-off zones. Drop off Zones are meant for quick exit and drop-off behind the coned areas. Please be quick to exit to prevent backing up and passing the stopped cars. Thank you for your diligence with student safety!

NOVEMBER 2, 2025 – OLS PARISH CRAFT FAIR – FREE ADMISSION
There will be food, crafts, jewellery, baking, clothing, and raffle prizes. There will be something for the whole family! Make sure to come by after Mass on Sunday, November 2nd between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All cafeteria proceeds benefit Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
