NEW SCHOOL DROP-OFF AND PICKUP TIMES
We wish to thank our parents and parking supervisors for continuing to keep our morning drop-offs and dismissals organized and safe! To reduce the wait times for our families, we will be changing our pickup times for Primary (K-3) to 2:45 p.m. and Intermediates (4-7) to 2:50 p.m. Please remember to drive slow through the drop-off zones and watch out for students who are crossing. (PLEASE DO NOT BACK UP!!) Also, there is no pick up at the front of the school (Slocan Street), as we do not have supervisors present. Pick up all students from the back of the school or wait by the exit gates. Please DO NOT BLOCK the driveways or interfere with our neighbours. Also note, as the weather gets colder, that students do wait outside until 8:30 a.m. as our staff is in morning prayer and cannot open the doors. Thanks for your understanding.
FOOD DRIVE & “TALE OF THE TAPE” UPDATE
We want to send you our sincerest praise for this year’s food drive. Our goal this year was ambitious with 2,000 individual food items to be collected amongst the four competing houses. The staff at Our Lady of Sorrows School is overwhelmed by the tremendous generosity of the community. This year, we raised over 2,500 individual food items for the local food bank, far surpassing our goal. An overwhelming sense of gratitude for all of you during this time of Thanksgiving. We cannot express enough how much this means for our community during this time of need. The Red House was the winning house with 1,100 individual items collected. Congratulations to the Red team.
Thank you again to all families as the Parish food bank has been blessed with your donations.
