OCTOBER 24, 2025 – ALL HALLOW’S COSTUME BASH- GOLDEN TICKET THEME!

This year’s All Hallow’s Bash will be held on Friday, October 24th from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. For those of you that purchased wristbands, they will be sent home today with your child. **Remember this is a family friendly event promoting fun and safe Christan Catholic Community values and FUN-Raising! We DO NOT celebrate or promote ugly or scary themes of Halloween movies or “dark culture;” therefore, no weapons, gore, blood, or scary costumes will be permitted!! Also, It is a regular school day and there is no dress down day or costumes during this school day. Thank you!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!

We are still in need of 3 volunteers for the Bash for a 6 – 8 p.m. shift selling tickets or helping in the kitchen. Please email the office ASAP if you can volunteer. Also, after the Bash, we will be contacting those families who have yet to do their 4 hrs/month of participation. All families are required to do 40 hrs per year of volunteering and must have at least 12 hrs by January 1st. If you are having trouble signing up for volunteer hours please contact our Participation Coordinator, Celina Vergel de Dios ([email protected]) for reassignment or to pay for non-participation.

OCTOBER 26, 2025 – FAMILY MASS – 11:30 A.M.

The Family Mass will be held on Sunday, October 26th at 11:30 a.m. lead by the Grade 6 class. We invite all families from OLS to celebrate the Family Mass. This is a great way for our families to attend and participate in the required Sunday liturgy. Families with young Children can now take advantage of Weekly Children’s Liturgy!

OCTOBER 30, 2025 – INDIVIDUAL PHOTO RETAKE DAY

Retakes will be on Thursday, October 30th. Please have your child dressed in full uniform on this day if they wish to have their individual photo retaken. If you wish your child to have a retake, please let your child’s classroom teacher know.

OCTOBER 31, 2025 – COLOUR / COSTUME DAY

Students may dress down (e.g., orange, and black) or come in dress up and non-scary costumes on Friday, October 31st. More information will be provided by their Classroom teachers. Students will be learning the connection and history of the Tridium of All Hallows Eve (Oct 31st), All Saints Day (Nov 1st), and All Souls Day (Nov 2nd) and how to better understand the importance of these 3 days in our Catholic – Christian Faith.

OCTOBER 31, 2025 – READ-A-THON

The Read-a-Thon officially ends on October 31st. Please continue to encourage reading at home. Reminder, ALL reading records need to be handed in by November 3rd at 3:00 p.m. to be eligible for prizes.

NOVEMBER 4, 2025 – ALL SAINTS DAY MASS- SCHOOL MASS

Our Grade 7s will be leading and Celebrating the Communion of Saints by dressing up and presenting a variety of popular Saint’s lives at our School Mass on November 4th at 9 a.m. ALL other students must be in full uniform (school sweaters and black shoes).

ALTAR SERVING PROGRAM

The altar serving program will be starting up in November. This is a great opportunity for students to join and be trained for altar serving to serve at school and weekend Masses. Altar serving is an excellent opportunity for students to serve their parish as well as to take on a leadership role. Students can choose the Mass or Masses that work with your family’s schedule. Training will take place at lunch. Ms. Guzzo has visited classes and distributed notices. Altar serving is open to boys and girls in grades 3-7. Thank you for your support!

AGAPE STREET MINISTRY DONATIONS

Once again, we reach out to OLS families for their donations of extra Halloween candy. We will be accepting candy until Friday, November 8th. All candy donated will go to AGAPE Street Ministry.

ARTONA PHOTO UPDATE

Your child’s photo is now available online! On photo day, your child brought home a notice from Artona with a QR code for ordering online. If you have any questions about ordering, please contact Artona at https://www.artona.com/contact-us or by telephone: 604-872-7272.

If you are not happy with your child’s photo or missed photo day, photo retake day will be on Thursday, October 30th.

SAFETY REMINDERS!!

As the weather gets darker and wetter, please remember to slow down and not stop to socialize in the drop-off zones. Drop off Zones are meant for quick exit and drop-off behind the coned areas. Please be quick to exit to prevent backing up and passing the stopped cars. Thank you for your diligence with student safety!
