REMINDERS

NEW PROVINCIAL CELL PHONE IN SCHOOLS POLICY

As of April 2024, the Ministry of Education of BC has mandated that cell phones or personal electronic devices (PEDs), which also includes phone synchronized watches, are not to allowed during school hours or on school grounds or events. Our school policy has always been for teachers to enforce this policy. If students are caught on school grounds (before or after school), or during class times, or washroom breaks with their phones, they will be confiscated and sent to the office. Students will have to pick up their phones at the end of the day. We do understand that students may need phones for safety walking home. If that is the case, they may keep them in a secure pouch in their bags until they leave the school grounds. Please refer to refer to School Policy #3 of our Policy Handbook. The Policy Handbook is also located on our website’s homepage under ‘Documents and Procedures’. We will discuss this policy more at the Meet the Teacher Evening.

REMINDER OF UNIFORM CONDITIONS AND UNIFORM POLICY

Uniforms should be examined and replaced as needed due to children outgrowing them or regular wear and tear. Please ensure that all uniform items are not faded, ripped or discoloured. Also please refer to our Uniform Policy, which is located in your child’s school agenda, for compliance for Hair, Nails or Jewellery. The agenda is also located on our website’s homepage under ‘Documents and Procedures’. The goal of a Uniform is to ensure all students are not a distraction and are ready to learn. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
