Dear Parents,

Thank you to all our parents for attending the Back to School Barbecue and Meet the Teacher Night. As mentioned in the meeting we will be adding some new and reorganizing some of our original parent participation groups. Some of these changes are as follows:

  • Fundraising will be planning a golf tournament and New Year’s party.
  • Church cleaning will now be Friday afternoons.
  • We will be adding a Choir helper for weekend Masses.
  • Landscaping will be flexible with other volunteer hours available.

All teams will have a Team Leader who will contact you. If you wish to be a Team Leader for any of these new groups, please email the office (office@myolosschool.com).

Thank you for your support!

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR UPDATE
Thank you to all parents and students who visited the Book Fair this past week. We sold over $8,700 in books! Teachers will be purchasing books for their class libraries and for the school library with the reward points the school earned.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all parents that volunteered and helped at the Book Fair. We couldn’t have done it without you!

OCTOBER 3-6, 2023 – FOOD DRIVE & “TALE OF THE TAPE”
Students can bring in their food items throughout the week in a bag with their house colour on it. Please do not send a bag that you would want returned. Last year, we raised over 3,000 individual items to be given to the needy.

Items that can be donated:

  • Canned Items (Tuna, Salmon, Sardines, Meat, Fruit/Vegetables, Sauce, Beans)
  • Dried Food (Rice, Beans, Chickpeas, Lentils)
  • Breakfast Items (Cereal, Coffee, Tea, Cookies, Sweets)
  • Baking (Sugar, Cooking Oil)

We ask that all donated items be non-perishable, small, unopened, and not expired. Please avoid items that can be damaged easily such as glass.

The first House Colour Challenge of the year “Tale of the Tape” will take place on Friday, October 6th. Please bring items in a box or bag with the student’s house colour labelled on it. Last year, we raised over 3,000 individual items to be given to the needy. Items will be weighed, measured, and totalled, to determine points for each House Colour Team.  May the best team win!

We thank you in advance for your generous donations.
