Dear Parents,

COVID UPDATE! – IMPORTANT!

Yesterday’s update of our BC Covid numbers indicate that we are now in a 3rd wave of COVID.

http://cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/covid-19-update-april-12-1.5984289

Again, all we can do is continue to daily screen, keep children home if they are not well or showing any of the cold or flu symptoms, and to let the office know if there are any potential exposure risks. It may take several days for us to be notified by FH or VCH, therefore if you are unsure of what to do. Also, all travel to whistler has now been banned, as well travel to vacation cabins. We are being asked to STAY LOCAL!  We ask any family who has travelled to wait 72 hrs. and be symptom free prior to sending children back to school to ensure safety for all classmates.

We will continue to monitor and update you on all announcements from the Ministry of Health and from the Ministry of Education.

AGAIN, Due to the higher risk of spread, we are stopping ALL special event treats from home effective immediately, i.e., Easter, spring, or summer treats, etc.

The best way to combat the new wave is to go back to the initial outbreak mentality. Stay in your bubbles and avoid any necessary personal contact with friends or family. These new variant strains have been making stopping transmission more difficult as they are two to three times more contagious! Due to the higher risk of spread, we are stopping ALL special event treats from home effective immediately, i.e., Easter, spring, or summer treats, etc.

Plesaes review school masks guidelines OLS website under documents.

Thank you to all of our students, staff and families who are doing all they can to keep all of the OLS Community Safe!
