Dear Parents,
As we enter the new COVID – 19 procedures for testing and isolating (http://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/covid-19/testing), again we are asking that students who are in close contact of people who have tested positive and are not feeling well themselves, to not come to school (see attached instructions from BCCDC). Students will still need to take a daily screening test before coming to school as symptoms may develop later.
We want to thank all our parents and families who have prioritized safety of others through these last two difficult pandemic years. We have been fortunate to have been only mildly affected throughout this time, again due to the incredible efforts of our staff, students, and parents.
Let us continue to stay focused on our steps for COVID SAFETY and keeping each other safe until this latest COVID season ends.
- Being fully vaccinated if possible and doing a daily health check and staying home if sick.
- Washing hands frequently.
- Wearing a mask indoors and in close contacts
- Respecting everyone’s personal space and practicing safe distancing.
- Continuing to support each other by being kind and respecting each others’ needs for safety!

All students missing 3 or more days in a week will be able to pick up assignments on Thursday’s afterschool (until 3:30 p.m.) at the office door, or view them on seesaw, or google classroom. SPECIAL BIRTHDAYS OR HOLIDAY TREAT UPDATE
Many parents are wondering about birthdays, holiday treats or class gifts. We will continue to allow commercially prepared food and hot lunches (as they are prepared with Food Safe protocols). HOWEVER, Valentine’s Day treats, gifts or cards will not be allowed this year. We will be using a non-contact/touchless way for students to celebrate Valentines and Friendship week, which begins February 14th and culminates on February 23rd (with our Kindness Colour Day). More information will follow from our classroom teachers, and you will receive an update in February before Catholic Schools Week. Please notify your child’s classroom teacher in advance for birthdays as no treats will be accepted at the office. Thank you for your understanding, and again, let us continue to work together to ensure the safety of everyone!
