Dear Parents,
PENDER STREET CLOSURE UPDATE!
The City of Vancouver is almost finished working on Pender Street. Thank you to all our parents who followed the directions of our awesome traffic volunteers, and gave themselves more time to drop-off. ALSO, if you are walking into the lot, please use the Slocan or Pender Street gates only and watch for cars on Turner exiting. Please be aware of students walking on Turner street. ALSO PLEASE DO NOT U- TURN! Parents are encouraged to pick up quickly and leave and NOT allow the younger children to run around the grass area on turner. The grass area is OUT of Bounds due to increased traffic. The regular drop-off and pick up should return sometime next week. Thank you for your patience!

JUNE 27 – JULY 3, 2022 – NEAT UNIFORMS FOCUS WEEK!
Please check OLS website regarding information about our school focus week, online buying procedures and promotional deals. Uniforms should be replaced every year due to children outgrowing them or wear and tear.
AFTERSCHOOL PICK-UP
Due to the warmer weather, the children will now be spending more time outside. Therefore, the gate to the school parking lot will not be opened until 2:30 p.m. Please do not arrive earlier than 2:30 p.m. to pick-up your child(ren) and wait at the gate as this creates a backlog of traffic and a nuisance for the neighbourhood.
COMMUNICABLE DISEASE PROTOCOLS
Our COVID protocols have changed into communicable disease protocols to continue to reduce the spread of germs that cause cold and flu like symptoms. Again, we are asking parents to not send kids to school when ill, and to use the allocated free COVID rapid tests (sent home before spring break) to ensure students are not attending school with COVID. The incident of COVID is still going to be rising, however, by continuing to keep sick children home, washing hands, and keeping physical distance between contacts, we should continue to get through this school year with minimal disruptions. Thank you to our parents and families that continue to do all you can to keep our students healthy and safe.
