Dear Parents,

We wish to congratulate our nominated P.E.C members for the 2022-2023 school year; Mirella Gargiulo, Anthoni Pasqua, and Laura Tempesta for accepting their nominations. Due to no other nominating forms received by last Friday, they have been acclaimed. There will be no P.E.C elections this year. Welcome to our new members!!

INTERMEDIATE GARDEN
There is a fence being installed on Turner Street for our new Intermediate Garden. The cement supporting the fence poles is fresh. Therefore, this area is out-of-bounds. Do not allow your children to play in this area or also on the grass areas on Slocan Street. Thank you for your patience!

This week all children in Gr. 3 – 7 will be bringing home a list of supplies that will be required on the first day of school in September. You are not obligated to purchase these supplies through School Start. However, if you choose to not use School Start you will need to ensure you have all the items listed on the order form for the first day of school in September.

School Start is offering early ordering incentives. Please see the attached flyer.

JUNE 27 – JULY 3, 2022 – NEAT UNIFORMS FOCUS WEEK!
Please check OLS website regarding information about our school focus week, online buying procedures and promotional deals.   Uniforms should be replaced every year due to children outgrowing them or wear and tear.

AFTERSCHOOL PICK-UP
Due to the warmer weather, the children will now be spending more time outside. Therefore, the gate to the school parking lot will not be opened until 2:30 p.m. Please do not arrive earlier than 2:30 p.m. to pick-up your child(ren) and wait at the gate as this creates a backlog of traffic and a nuisance for the neighbourhood.

COMMUNICABLE DISEASE PROTOCOLS
Our COVID protocols have changed into communicable disease protocols to continue to reduce the spread of germs that cause cold and flu like symptoms. Again, we are asking parents to not send kids to school when ill, and to use the allocated free COVID rapid tests (sent home before spring break) to ensure students are not attending school with COVID. The incident of COVID is still going to be rising, however, by continuing to keep sick children home, washing hands, and keeping physical distance between contacts, we should continue to get through this school year with minimal disruptions. Thank you to our parents and families that continue to do all you can to keep our students healthy and safe.
