MARCH 29, 2023 – REGISTRATION PACKAGES DUE
Registration packages will be accepted on Wednesday, March 29th.  Please drop off the registration package at the office prior to going to the student-led conference. DO NOT SEND YOUR PACKAGE TO SCHOOL, PRIOR TO THIS DATE, WITH YOUR CHILD(REN).

Please ensure you return the following forms:

Registration Package:

  1. Personal Information Protection Act Parental Consent (Green form).
  2. Family Statement of Commitment (Purple form).
  3. Parent/Guardian Code of Conduct (Blue form).
  4. Court Order Form (Beige form – if applicable school copy).
  5. Student Registration and Family Medical Form (Yellow form).
  6. Status of Parent/Guardian Form A (Pink form).
  7. Tuition Form, Pre-Authorized Debit Agreement and one void cheque (Salmon form).

IF PAYING BY CASH, PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE EXACT AMOUNT AS WE CANNOT GUARANTEE WE WILL BE ABLE TO PROVIDE CHANGE.

FEDERATION OF LASER MASTER – MAKEUP CLASS
This is a reminder for those of you registered with Laser Master, the makeup class for the missed class on February 28th will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, March 28th.

FEDERATION OF LASER MASTER
The next session of Laser Master will run April 4th – May 23rd at OLS.  Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for students in Grades 1-7. For registration and payment please visit Lastermaster.com and click on the Our Lady of Sorrows Link.  The classes are first come first service with a maximum of 14 students.

MARCH 28, 2023 – CURLING GRADE 5 STUDENTS
Grade 5 students will be participating in curling lessons this month. Grade 5 students Tuesday, March 28th.  Further details to follow.

MARCH 29, 2023 – STUDENT-LED CONFERENCES – 1:00 – 5:00 P.M. – 12:00 P.M. DISMISSAL
Please refer to your child’s confirmed scheduled time that was sent home with report cards.  There will be 12:00 pm dismissal and NO After School Club on this day.

MARCH 30 & 31, 2023 – CLOTHING DRIVE
It’s time to clean out your closet because the OLS leadership council is having a Clothing Drive! We take donations that are clean and gently used. Click here to view the flyer. You can drop off your donations in Father Rosemond’s garage on the following dates:

March 30th – 8:00 – 8:45 a.m. and 3:00 – 3:30 p.m.
March 31st – 8:00 – 8:45 a.m.

REMINDERS

GR.  7 FUNDRAISING – ONGOING BOTTLE DRIVE – RETURN-IT EXPRESS
The Grade 7 Fundraising Committee is collecting bottles again this year. It’s easy! Simply place your empties in clear bags and drop them off at any “Return-It Express” depot (link to locations here). The school’s account is under our main phone number (604-253-2434).

LENT BOXES 
Lent boxes have been given to each student in Grades 1-7. All boxes will be collected after Easter Monday, Tuesday, April 11th. We ask that ALL students label their box with their name and house colour. We also ask that you print the amount collected on the box. Please use this opportunity to encourage your child to give alms (to do charitable work).

COMMUNITY EVENTS

MARCH 29 – APRIL 2, 2023 – MAN OF THE SHROUD EXHIBITION
St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Vancouver is inviting all Grades 6 to 12 students, teachers, and parents to visit the Man of the Shroud Exhibition from Wednesday, March 29th to Sunday April 2nd. This exhibit of the Shroud of Turin – the burial cloth of Jesus Christ – has received numerous positive testimonies from both students and teachers from schools in other provinces across Canada. There will be four presentations on Thursday, March 30th and Friday, March 31st at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. There is no fee for the exhibit and/or lectures, however, donations will be gratefully accepted.
