APRIL 4 – MAY 23, 2023 – FEDERATION OF LASER MASTER
The next session of Laser Master will run April 4th – May 23rd at OLS. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for students in Grades 1-7. For registration and payment please visit Lastermaster.com and click on the Our Lady of Sorrows Link. The classes are first come first service with a maximum of 14 students.
APRIL 6, 2023 – STATIONS OF THE CROSS
The Stations of the Cross will be performed by the Grade 7 class from 10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. in the Gym. All students should be in FULL UNIFORM for the FULL DAY

APRIL 11, 2023 – LENTEN BOXES DUE BACK
All boxes will be collected after Easter Monday, Tuesday, April 11th. We ask that ALL students label their box with their name and house colour. We also ask that you print the amount collected on the box. Please use this opportunity to encourage your child to give alms (to do charitable work).
APRIL 12, 2023 – GRADE 5 MASS
Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 12th at 9:00 a.m. Parents and grandparents are welcome to join us.
APRIL 14, 2023 – In-House Spelling Bee
Our annual In-house Spelling Bee for Grades 4-7 will be held on Friday, April 14th at 1:00 p.m. in the Gym.

APRIL 20 AND 21, 2023 – LICE CHECKS
The next school-wide lice check will be conducted on Thursday, April 20th and Friday, April 21st. Thank you to Mrs. Kraljevic for doing this once again.

APRIL 22, 2023 – CONFIRMATION RETREAT
The Grade Seven Confirmation Retreat will be held on Saturday, April 22nd. Please refer to the information sent home by the Grade Seven teacher.
APRIL 24, 2023 – EARTH DAY – COLOUR DAY
Dress down in earth colour tones on Monday, April 24th. Those children having gym class on this day are still required to wear gym strip under their clothes. There is NO CHARGE for this Colour Day!
APRIL 24, 2023 – GRADE 7 ANNUAL BAKE SALE
The Annual Grade 7 Bake Sale will take place on Monday, April 24th. Treats will cost $2.00 each.
APRIL 29, 2023 – FIRST COMMUNION RETREAT
The Grade Two First Communion Retreat will be held on Saturday, April 29th. Please refer to the information sent home by the Grade Two teacher.
APRIL 30, 2023 – FAMILY MASS
The Family Mass will held be on Sunday, April 30th at 11:30 a.m. We invite all families from OLS to celebrate the Family Mass. This is a great way for our families to attend and participate in the required Sunday liturgy.
MAY 1 – 8, 2023 – VIRTUAL SILENT AUCTION COMING!
We are excited to bring back our 3rd annual spring silent auction! There will be amazing items to bid on including the popular – front row tickets to the OLS Christmas Concert! The event will take place for 6 days only beginning on Monday, May 1st. Bidding will close on Monday, May 8th at 8:30 p.m. We are currently seeking more prizes. If you or your company would like to donate an item, an experience, or tickets, we will gladly accept your generous donation. Please drop off items at the office by Thursday, April 6th or email the fundraising committee with the details at olsfundraising@gmail.com. We will happily advertise your company on the 32auctions website (https://www.32auctions.com/). Thank you so much for supporting our school event!

REMINDERS
- 7 FUNDRAISING – ONGOING BOTTLE DRIVE – RETURN-IT EXPRESS
The Grade 7 Fundraising Committee is collecting bottles again this year. It’s easy! Simply place your empties in clear bags and drop them off at any “Return-It Express” depot (link to locations here). The school’s account is under our main phone number (604-253-2434).
COMMUNITY EVENTS
MARCH 29 – APRIL 2, 2023 – MAN OF THE SHROUD EXHIBITION
St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Vancouver is inviting all Grades 6 to 12 students, teachers, and parents to visit the Man of the Shroud Exhibition from Wednesday, March 29th to Sunday April 2nd. This exhibit of the Shroud of Turin – the burial cloth of Jesus Christ – has received numerous positive testimonies from both students and teachers from schools in other provinces across Canada. There will be four presentations on Thursday, March 30th and Friday, March 31st at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. There is no fee for the exhibit and/or lectures, however, donations will be gratefully accepted.
