All library books should now have been returned. If you have not returned your books, please do so as soon as possible. Families with outstanding books have been notified by letter. Please try to locate the missing books as they are expensive to replace.

JUNE 16, 2023 – SPORTS DAY – 12:00 P.M. DISMISSAL – NO AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
On Friday, June 16th, the annual OLS Sports Day will take place rain or shine. This will be held at Templeton Oval. Dismissal will be at 11:45 a.m. from the Templeton Oval. All staff and students will receive a McDonald’s hamburger, bag of chips and juice box at no cost. Thank you to our Hot Lunch Moms!
Kindergarten Fun Day is at the school. Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m.
NO AFTER SCHOOL CLUB on this day.
JUNE 16, 2023 – OUR LADY OF SORROWS PARISH RAFFLE BOOKS DUE
We are asking each family to sell or buy 1 book of 10 raffle tickets ($2 per ticket). There are $10,000 worth of prizes. For more raffle books please contact the school office. All books will be sent home today. All books and money are due back by Friday June 16th. As raffle books are numbered and they must be returned, sold or unsold.

JUNE 20, 2023 – GR. 3 TRAVEL FAIR
‘The Soaring Eagles Travel Agency’ will be “landing” in the gym on Tuesday, June 20th. The Grade 3 class has been working very hard on this project. All are invited to attend. The travel agency will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We hope to see you there!
JUNE 22, 2023 – LAST DAY OF AFTERSCHOOL CLUB
The last day of Afterschool Care will be on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Payment for Afterschool Care must be paid by June 22, 2023.
JUNE 22, 2023 – MCCARTHY (FORMERLY NEAT) UNIFORMS
McCarthy Uniforms will be hosting VIP event for all OLS families on Thursday, June 22nd from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please see the attached flyer for further details. Uniforms should be examined and replaced as needed due to children outgrowing them or wear and tear.
JUNE 23, 2023 – GRADE 7 FAREWELL CEREMONIES
The Grade 7 Farewell Ceremonies will be held on Friday, June 23rd in the Church at 10:30 a.m.
JUNE 25, 2023 – FAMILY MASS
The Family Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 25th. We invite all families from OLS to celebrate the Family Mass. The OLS Family Mass is a great way for our families to attend and participate in the Sunday liturgy.
JUNE 26, 2023 – CLEANING OUT OF DESKS
We ask that all students Grades 1-7, please bring TWO LARGE GARBAGE BAGS to school by Friday, June 23rd to empty the contents of their desks for the summer.
JUNE 26, 2023 – WALK-A-THON & TRACK AWARDS ASSEMBLY
The Awards Assembly will be held on Monday, June 26th at 1:00 p.m. We invite all parents to attend.
JUNE 27, 2023 – GRADE 7 CLOSING MASS – FULL UNIFORM
Parents and grandparents are welcome to join us on Tuesday, June 27th for Mass at 9:00 a.m. The Grade 7 class will be preparing this Mass. Full school uniform, with black shoes is required.
JUNE 27, 2023 – LAST DAY OF SCHOOL BEFORE SUMMER VACATION
The last day of school will be Tuesday, June 27th. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. NO AFTER-SCHOOL CLUB on this day.
JUNE 27, 2023 – ORDER FORMS DUE FOR SCHOOL SUPPLIES (GRADES 3 – 7)
All children in Gr. 3 – 7 brought home a list of supplies that will be required on the first day of school in September. Please follow the instructions in the notice for ordering and place your order by Tuesday, June 27th to ensure prompt school delivery.

OUR LADY OF SORROWS PARISH GALA
Friday, September 15, 2023, is the Feast of our Patroness, Our Lady of Sorrows. As our Parish is undertaking a Capital Campaign (introduced at the April 16th Mass), to update our facilities to present codes and seismic standards, we are asking our families to help in the fundraising goals.
- The Parish is also selling tickets to the Our Lady of Sorrows Gala on Saturday, September 16th. If your family or a class of parents wish to purchase tickets to this great community event, tickets are $75. Organize a table of 10 by June 23rd and receive a free bottle of red or white wine. Tickets are available to purchase from the Parish office.

AFTERSCHOOL PICK-UP
Due to the warmer weather, the children will now be spending more time outside. Therefore, the gate to the school parking lot will not be opened until 2:30 p.m. Please do not arrive earlier than 2:30 p.m. to pick-up your child(ren) and wait at the gate as this creates a backlog of traffic and a nuisance for the neighbourhood.
Gr. 7 FUNDRAISING – ONGOING BOTTLE DRIVE – RETURN-IT EXPRESS
The Grade 7 Fundraising Committee is collecting bottles again this year. It’s easy! Simply place your empties in clear bags and drop them off at any “Return-It Express” depot (link to locations here). The school’s account is under our main phone number (604-253-2434).
