What are the coronavirus variants and how should we respond to them? Your COVID-19 questions answered | CBC News

As we are still isolating our Kindergarten and Preschool classes until next week, we are grateful to all our families who “in an abundance of caution”, or were usure of possible exposures, decided to isolate at home as a precaution. As up to 70% of all new cases maybe the new variant of viruses, we have been EXTRA CAUTIOUS at school as well.  We will continue to send home any missed assignments for those isolating or staying home as extra precaution.  Please continue to monitor daily for symptoms or isolate all siblings for 14 days if someone in your household has had a direct exposure. Thank you to all our families who continue to do all you can to keep our OLS Community Safe!

FEBRUARY 26TH – HAPPY BIRTHDAY FATHER RICHARD!
This Friday, please help us celebrate our Wonderful Pastor, Father Richard’s Birthday in our morning drive by between 8:15 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. Father Richard has been outside with Mrs. Radford our head teacher (birthday girl today), every morning greeting all our students daily. Decorate your car or make a window sign to show your appreciation for Father Richard and all he does for our Parish and School community. His messages of hope during this pandemic have helped keep us all calm and his special prayers and masses have helped us to keep our faith alive even in this difficult time of COVID. Please do not make contact other than cheer, or signs from a distance. If you plan to drop off a card instead, please do so at the school office or through your child as we will have a special box for the cards to sit or be wiped and disinfected before we send them to the rectory for him at the end of the day. Please sign into www.olos.ca for the many live OLS YouTube recordings and repeat any masses that you may have missed.  Watch them as a family and when you are most ready or in need of prayer.

REMINDERS:

SCHOOL SUPPLIES & LUNCH DROP-OFF REMINDER
We would like to remind you that due to the current COVID 19 restrictions, we wish to restrict calls home for supplies and lunches, so please have your child review daily routines and help them to prepare for their day prior to bedtime. We encourage your children to bring all necessary items, including lunches, to school daily. Every time a lunch or school supplies are dropped off at the office, we increase our risk to exposure. Thank you.

WEATHER UPDATE
Please note, as the weather gets colder and rainier, we are asking parents to ensure students have proper Jackets and shoes, as well as NOT sending students who have gym in the morning only with PE strip! Students MUST stay outside until 8:35 a.m. as we have to ensure adequate supervision in the school while teachers are in staff prayer. Also, students may have to be outside throughout the day for recess or movement between the buildings (gym and Church). Please send jackets with hoods for your children to school daily, as well as ensuring proper uniform. Thank you.
