Dear Parents,

Hospitals ‘feeling the strain,’ as B.C. records 853 new cases of COVID-19 and 1 more death | CBC News

As we continue to hear the bad news of the “Third Wave of Covid infections”, we are grateful for our families that are doing all they can do to stop our school community from getting impacted. Our students, parents, and staff have done all they can do: Stay home when sick, keep 6ft of distance between each other, wash hands frequently and wear a mask when in group settings. No one measure can prevent the spread of COVID individually. However, when all measures are taken together, and consistently, we have been able STOP the impact of spread at the school. Please continue to do all you can to stop the spread of COVID. The rise in variants is a result of more mutations due to more infections, and due to those who are not following personal safety measures or quarantining when traveling. Please trust the medical professionals as the internet or you tube channels are not a vetted resource for medical advice. True doctors are too busy saving lives than posting unverified theories on the internet! We teach our students to use caution when researching information on-line as the internet is full of fake theories and unscientifically confirmed medical advice. We hope our parents are taking the same precautions. We all entitled to our opinions; however, we also have a MORAL responsibility to take care of one another as we are a Christian Community. Jesus taught us to love one another! Thank you to all our families who continue to do what is recommended and safe, as I am proud of the many personal sacrifices made by this community for the safety of others. Thank you and God Bless all our OLS community!
